The Truth About Hemorrhoids

It is painful when we have hemorrhoids, especially for pregnant women. It is characterized by swollen or inflamed veins in the anus and rectum. For pregnant women, it is the result of increased pressure in the veins, but for other people, it is usually caused by the tension during bowel movements. There are two types of hemorrhoids depending on the location. If it is located inside the rectum, it is called internal hemorrhoids. If it is located around the anus, it is called external hemorrhoids.

While some people consider it abnormal, the truth is that everybody is prone to it and experiences it at some point in their lives. Many people experience hemorrhoids, and suffering from one shouldn’t be a cause of great concern. Here are treatments and procedures you can consider:

Pharmaceutical Drugs

If the haemorrhoid causes slight discomfort, it can be treatable with the help of drugs. But of course you have to ask your doctor first. They usually suggest over-the-counter ointments, creams and suppositories. You can buy these things without prescription.

Minimally Invasive Procedures

If your doctor found that there is a considerable clot, he will suggest minimally invasive treatment procedures like a simple incision, injection, infrared, laser and rubber band litigation.

Surgical Procedures

If other procedures failed and the hemorrhoid is still present or if the hemorrhoid is very large, doctors will recommend surgery. This will cost you more. You have two options-hemorrhoid removal and stapling. Hemorrhoid removal is also called hemorrhoidectomy. Although it can be painful, this will completely remove the hemorrhoids. Another procedure is stapling, which aims to obstruct the blood flow to the hemorrhoidal tissue. You may feel lesser pain but the chance of hemorrhoids going back is very high. You have to ask your doctor which is best for you.
