One of the most common problems in the household is the invasion of bed bugs. Bed bugs are parasites that hide through mattresses and other furniture. They are invisible to the eye which makes it difficult to deal with. Every home is prone to their invasion because it can survive in any environment especially with temperature less than 48ºC.

Bed bugs hide during the day and suck blood at night. These insects move a lot therefore infesting our bed, furniture, suitcases and other things. It is not only found in our homes, it can also be found in other places like schools, airplanes, hospitals, hotels and movie theatres. Though they are not life threatening, the fact that it sucks our blood and irritates our skin is very disturbing. If our house is really infested, it is important to act quickly. We should do the following things right away: vacuum, wash and call for pest control.

We should vacuum our mattresses, carpets, drapes and other upholstered furniture as often as we can. If there are no vacuums available, the best alternative is to let it out and let it stay under the sun for a while. To be sure, we should regularly wash our bed sheets, pillowcases and blankets. Washing and drying it on a high heat setting will surely eliminate bed bugs.

If they are still bugging us despite of our best efforts, it is time to call for pest control service. We can ask for reference from friends and relatives. We are free to demand eco-friendly treatments from the company. If in this case we are renting a house, the landlord should be informed directly. He/she will take care of the matter.
