  • Make sure that your working area is neat and tidy.
  • Create and use a filing system that makes sense.
  • Prioritize your tasks so that the important ones will be completed first.
  • Write down things so you won’t forget them.
  • Keep an electronic calendar or a daily planner on hand.

By practising these things, you become more effective and efficient. You won’t miss any appointment or lose any important information. You’ll become more dependable because you know where everything is as well as the ways on how you can access those things when you need them the most.

  1. Manage Your Emotions. While being emotional is not necessarily a bad thing, there’s still a right place and time for you to show your emotions. Remember that effective leaders, whether female or male, are the ones who have a consistent disposition and can stay calm even under pressure. Always keep your emotions in check, regardless of how strong they can get and learn ways on how you can properly deal with it. For instance, work your aggression out of your system by venting it out to a friend.

  1. Radiate Confidence. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you always need to be confident; you just have to act like it. Most successful women are confident with their abilities, but there will still be times when they’ll feel unsure as to whether or not they’ll be able to complete a particular task. When the doubt kicks in, that’s when you start acting. Start by walking with authority and confidence. Avoid being wishy-washy when you speak. Also, if you happen to not know a particular thing, admit it. You can always be confident even without having to know all the answers.

 

  1. Focus on Your Strengths. More often than not, women tend to focus on their weaknesses. They always highlight what they did wrong and point out their imperfections, but it shouldn’t be that way. Focus on your strengths and refine them. Also, learn how these things can benefit you in your journey to the top of the success ladder.

 

  1. Learn to Set Boundaries. It’s quite easy to get overwhelmed when you’re maintaining a successful home and work life, and this is the very reason why you should learn to set boundaries so that you won’t end up with more things that you can handle. You can’t do everything that everyone asks you to do, nor should you do every single thing if you want to keep your sanity intact. Remember that it’s entirely up to you to decide what you’ll accept and what you’ll turn down.

Being a successful is an honour and privilege, but it’s also a ton of work. If you’re already practising the habits listed above, then you’re well on your way to the top.
